Established in February 2007 the Network aims to provide a focus for and raise the profile of a wide range of issues that affect the lives of LGBT people living and working in Calderdale.

Since its formation the Network has focussed on work and issues around the “visibility of” and “safe spaces for” the LGBT community. For this reaosn the LGBT Network is organising Calderdale's first ever Pride in June 2009, which aims to raise the profile of the LGBT community in a safe and healthy place.
