The network was established in February 2006 to support and represent LGBT people living, working and visiting Calderdale. The network is a voluntary organisation with no paid staff. However it does report formally to the Local Strategic Partnership which means that the issues raised by and through the network are heard by decision makers. The network is supported by and works in partnership with  a number of agencies and organisations to try to improve the quality of life for LGBT people in Calderdale and to ensure that local services are appropriate to the needs of LGBT people.
